PSA: A local in Savannah told me my 'historic district' tour was all wrong

I was giving a friend a tour last spring and pointed out a house I swore was from 1820. This older guy on a porch just said, 'Honey, that's a 1970s rebuild, the real story is three blocks over.' I changed my whole route after that (and now I double-check my dates). Anyone else get schooled by a local on your own turf?

Nah, skylerg17, I never did find that story. It's like when you hear a crazy rumor but the source is always "some guy" or a deleted tweet. Makes you wonder how much of what we talk about online is just missing pieces that nobody actually has.
