Am I the only one who ditched the visitor center and just asked a guy at the gas pump instead?
So last month I drove up to Duluth for a long weekend and I had this whole plan to stop at the visitor center first, grab the maps, talk to the staff, the usual. My buddy said skip it and just ask a local at the first gas station you hit, said you get way better tips that way. I went with his advice and the guy filling his truck at a Speedway on London Road pointed me to a beach and a diner that weren't in any brochure I saw. But now I'm second guessing it because the visitor center folks also hooked me up with a free parking pass last time I was there. So which one actually works better for you, the official visitor center with the brochures or just rolling up and asking a stranger?
