My attempt to explain DHCP to my mom ended in a 40 minute phone call
Last Tuesday my mom called because her printer stopped working. I asked if the Wi-Fi was on, she said yes, so I walked her through checking the connection. She kept saying the printer was "offline" and I kept asking about the router lights, but she couldn't tell me if they were blinking or solid. After 40 minutes I realized her router had been unplugged for two days because she was dusting. I told her to plug it back in and suddenly everything worked. She said "see, you should've said that first" and hung up. Anyone else have family members who skip the basics and go straight to assuming the tech is broken?
