Dropped $50 on a 'guided' fossil dig in Dorset and all I got was a bag of rocks from the gift shop
You pay to dig at this site near Charmouth and they hand you a bucket of pre-salted ammonites they clearly bought in bulk. Spent the day finding nothing real while a kid next to me picked up a decent belemnite for free on the public beach. Has anyone actually found something worth keeping on a paid dig, or is it all a tourist trap?
