TIL my climbing line looked fine until I ran it through my hand in the driveway
Found a nick about 6 inches up from the splice yesterday while I was just coiling it up, and I must have run that same spot through my hands 50 times without catching it. Got a new line ordered from the shop in Asheville and benched that one for rigging only. What do you all do to check your ropes, fingers or do you actually sit down and inspect the whole thing?

Checked mine in the garage light last month and totally missed a flat spot until my buddy pointed it out.
