Tried a vinegar soak on a really bad washing machine pump and it cleared the whole thing

Had a front loader with a pump that was just humming, no flow at all. The filter was clean, so I pulled the pump and the impeller was totally stuck. Instead of ordering a new part right away, I let the whole housing sit in a bucket of white vinegar overnight. In the morning, the impeller spun free like new. I put it back in and the machine ran fine. Has anyone else had luck with a simple soak fixing a part you thought was junk?

Nice! Did you dilute the vinegar at all, or just use it straight?

Straight from the bottle, but only on really tough spots. For general cleaning, a fifty-fifty mix with water in a spray bottle works best. Using it full strength all the time can damage some surfaces over time, like stone or certain seals. That mix is strong enough for most daily grime and saves your vinegar for the long haul. Learned that the hard way on an old laminate floor.
