Just realized how much my bokashi bin actually holds

I finally weighed my pre-compost after a month and it was over 15 pounds... I found that stat on the city's waste diversion website. Anyone else surprised by their own volume of scraps?

I always figured it was just a small bucket. Seeing the actual weight of wet scraps really makes you realize how much food waste we produce without noticing.

That weight adds up fast in the garbage truck too. Makes you wonder how much fuel gets burned just hauling our soggy leftovers to the dump. All that rotting food in landfills makes a lot of methane gas, which is terrible for warming the planet. So it's not just about wasting the food itself, but all the extra problems that come with throwing it out. Ever look into composting, even just a small bin for yard scraps?
