Hit 100 Roman coins in my collection this week
I've been digging at old farmland near Bath for about 3 years now. This week I finally pulled out my 100th Roman bronze. Never thought I'd get that many from just one area. Most are 3rd and 4th century, nothing super rare but still cool. The soil there is really mild so the patina comes out nice. Anybody else hit a big milestone like that and have it change how you hunt?

Saw your post and had to jump in because nobody's talking about the real game changer here. Reaching 100 coins from one spot should totally shift your strategy from just gridding to actually mapping the site. I'd start plotting every single coin find on a simple map, even just a drawing in a notebook. You'll start noticing patterns like where the really worn ones are versus the crisp ones, and that tells you where people were walking most. Also track the emperors if you can, even if it's just a rough date range for each coin. A buddy of mine did this with a similar site and figured out exactly where a small Roman settlement was just from the density and wear patterns. You've got a goldmine of data sitting in your finds box already.
