Gave up on my pinpointer at the old fairground in Guthrie and just used a coin probe instead
Spent about 3 hours at the old fairground in Guthrie last Saturday swinging my detector and getting nothing but pull tabs and foil. My pinpointer kept falsing in the wet dirt so I tossed it back in the truck and grabbed the cheap brass probe I got for 12 bucks at a flea market. Way faster on shallow targets once I got the hang of it, popped a 1944 wheat penny and a mercury dime in the last 40 minutes. Anybody else find a plain probe beats electronics in muddy ground or is it just me?
