My uncle said to rate Tri-X at 800 and the first roll came back looking like charcoal briquettes
My uncle has been shooting film since the 70s and he told me at a family BBQ in Tulsa last spring that I should just push Tri-X to 800 and stop babying my exposures. I trusted him, shot a roll at a birthday party with my Pentax K1000, and dropped it off at the lab on a Tuesday. Got the prints back and every single frame was so dark you could barely find the birthday cake, and the lab guy asked me if I had underexposed on purpose. So was my uncle just wrong, or do I need to send it to a different lab that actually pushes the dev time? Anybody got a lab they trust for push processing?
