Found my dad's old polaroid at a garage sale last Saturday for $5
I was digging through a box of junk in someone's driveway when I spotted this beat up Polaroid OneStep. The guy selling it said it probably didn't work but I grabbed it anyway. Got home and threw in some fresh film from Walmart and the flash popped right on the first shot. The colors came out all washed out and dreamy looking. Anyone else have luck bringing old instant cameras back to life or is it just random?

$5? That's a steal and a half considering it actually worked.

Man that's awesome. I got a similar one from a thrift store for like $8 a few years back. The trick with those old Polaroids is the battery in the film pack actually powers the camera. So if the film's good and the camera electronics aren't totally fried it'll fire up. Your washed out dreamy look is probably from the lens being dusty or the exposure sensor getting old. Try cleaning the lens with a microfiber cloth. I bet the colors get a little sharper. You basically got a working vintage camera for the price of a coffee.
