Spent 3 hours trying to fix a light leak on my Yashica before finding the foam seal was just dry rotted
I kept taping up the back door hinges and it still had that weird orange streak on every frame. Anyone else waste half a day on something that simple?

Heard this guy on a photo podcast say 90% of camera issues are just old foam. Three hours is rough though, I've been there with a Nikon FE that turned out to be a tiny crack in the shutter curtain.

Three hours on a light leak is a bit much. Usually a quick look at the seals tells you everything you need to know. They turn to goo or crack right off. Maybe check the mirror bumper too if you're still messing with it. But honestly, if the picture still looks good enough, who cares about a little streak. Some people pay good money for that vintage look. Might be more trouble than it's worth if you ask me.
