My old beat-up Kodak Retina outshines my new digital setup, hear me out

I used to shoot everything on a digital mirrorless I bought in 2019, but last March I dug out my dad's 1957 Retina IIa from a closet. The difference is wild, the way the light falls on the film just has a softness no sensor can fake. I've run 12 rolls through it now and every single frame makes me pause, even the ones with my thumb in the corner. Has anyone else gone back to a vintage 35mm and found it harder to pick the camera up when you know the results are this good?

Man, 12 rolls? That's serious commitment. I figured people just tried one roll, got a few blurry shots, and went back to their digital camera.
