Saw a huge shift in patient follow-up after we went digital
I work in a small PT clinic in Austin, and last spring we switched from paper intake forms to a tablet system. For the first 3 months, I honestly thought it was just extra work for the front desk staff. But then I started noticing something about the no-show rate, it dropped from around 30% down to 12% by August. The key was the automatic text reminders, plus patients could see their whole exercise plan on their phone right after each visit. People started showing up more prepared, like they actually remembered what we worked on last time. Has anyone else seen their appointment retention change that fast after a simple tech switch, or did it take longer for your clinic?

Whoa, that's a wild turnaround. I'll be honest, I used to roll my eyes at the whole "digital intake" craze, figured it was just another gadget for the sake of it. But seeing that drop from 30 to 12 percent in a few months is pretty hard to argue with. My guess is the reminders are the big piece, people just forget or lose track, and having the plan right there on their phone takes away the whole "what did we do last time" excuse. It took my old clinic a bit longer to see real changes, probably a full six months, but we never got a jump that clean.
