Rant: I remember when we had to run four wires for every sensor

Back in the day, a basic door contact meant pulling a red, black, green, and white wire from the panel. Now, with two-wire addressable loops, I can put 32 devices on a single pair. The difference is huge, especially in a retrofit. I did a 20-unit apartment building last month and saved probably 15 hours of labor just on wire pulls. Anyone else still run into old systems where you have to trace a whole bundle back to the panel?

Honestly that's so true. I was just at the gym and saw a guy with wireless earbuds, wireless headphones over them, and a wireless heart rate monitor on his arm. It's getting wild. Even my electric toothbrush has a wireless charger now. Like, what's next, a wireless toaster?
