Learned to label every zone wire after a mix-up in a Denver hotel basement
I spent 2 hours tracing a crossed zone wire in a downtown Denver hotel basement because the last guy used all white wire and no labels. Now I bring a $12 label maker and tag both ends of every run before I close a panel. Does anyone else have a checklist item they picked up after a bad job?
The white wire thing hits home way too hard lol. I once spent a whole afternoon in a crawlspace convinced I had a dead short, turns out two zones were just wired to the same breaker and nothing was labeled. My checklist item now is taking a phone pic of every panel before I touch anything, because past me was way too confident and future me needs the evidence. That $12 label maker is the cheapest insurance in the trade.
