DSC panel firmware update caught me off guard, now zones remapped themselves
Honestly, I updated a DSC PowerSeries panel at a client's place in Phoenix last Friday because the keypad was showing random trouble codes. After the flash, two of the hardwired zones got reassigned to different inputs, so the front door contact now reports as zone 4 instead of zone 1. I didn't touch the programming at all, just the firmware file from the dealer portal. Has anyone else seen a firmware update scramble zone defaults like that? I'm wondering if I should re-init the EEPROM or just manually reprogram every zone.

Ugh, that's a rough one to walk into, especially after a simple update. I had a similar scare on an older panel once where the flash just wiped out my zone assignments and went back to the factory map, so I feel your pain. Honestly, I'd just bite the bullet and reprogram everything manually, that way you know it's right and you dont have to worry about the EEPROM re-init messing with other stuff.
