Unpopular opinion: I used to hate the new composite sealants until I had to redo a job after 6 months

I stuck with the old polysulfide for years, but a job on a Citation in Denver made me try the newer epoxy stuff. The prep work is way more picky, but it hasn't cracked in the cold like the old stuff always did for me. Anyone else find the extra time on surface prep actually pays off in the long run?

Totally get that, had the same fight with a hangar floor seal last winter. Spent an extra hour cleaning and etching, but it held through the freeze-thaw cycles. Makes you wonder why we fought the switch for so long, right?

My buddy's boat deck sealant is still perfect after two winters.
