Pro tip: Stop preheating your air fryer, it changed my whole routine
I used to always let mine run empty for 5 minutes before adding food, figured it was like an oven. Last Tuesday I was in a rush with frozen chicken tenders and just threw them in cold, they came out way crispier than usual and even faster. Turns out the fan and heating cycle works better when the food absorbs the initial heat spike, at least that's what a commenter on a random recipe blog told me. Has anyone else noticed a texture difference when you skip the warm up phase, or am I just imagining things?

Wait, is that actually a thing? Because I swear I've been wasting my mornings this whole time. I mean, I always preheated mine too, thought it was just common sense, but now I'm second guessing every bag of frozen fries I've ever made. The other day I did the same thing with some leftover wings, just tossed them in without waiting, and yeah, they had that nice snap on the skin that I usually only get when I overcook them. Maybe it's just me being lazy finally paying off, but I'm honestly kind of mad I didn't try this sooner.
