I finally nailed crispy tofu, but now my kitchen is divided

Pressing the tofu before it goes in the air fryer gives it a firm bite. Others in my house say a wet coat makes it crispier. Where do you stand on this?

Can we all agree that tofu debates are the most civil wars? I'm team press, because drying it out first seems to give it a better crunch in the air fryer. Maybe try a side-by-side test to settle it, but I doubt anyone will budge.

My friend and her roommate had a whole showdown over tofu methods last weekend. They were both air frying blocks but couldn't agree on the press step. She actually quoted @the_mila's post about pressing for better crunch, so they had to test it. They cooked two batches side by side, pressing one and just patting the other dry. The pressed cubes were way crispier and had a nicer bite, honestly. Still, her roommate refused to change her routine, which just proves these food hills are the ones we choose to die on.

Seriously? The test proved pressing works, but she still won't change? That's insane. Pressing tofu removes moisture, which is key for crunch in an air fryer. Her roommate is just being stubborn for no good reason. People get weirdly attached to their ways even when they're wrong.
