Hit 500 air fryer meals and my electric bill actually dropped

I keep a simple tally on my phone, and last Tuesday I crossed 500 meals made in my air fryer since I bought it in March 2023. What surprised me is that my average monthly electric bill went from $92 to $84 over that same stretch. I was using the oven way less, especially for single portions like chicken thighs or roasted veggies. The air fryer runs about 15 minutes for most stuff, versus 40 minutes in the oven at 400 degrees. Anyone else track their usage and notice a similar change in their utility costs?

The whole thing makes sense when you look at how appliances shape habits. My neighbor started using a toaster oven for everything and her gas bill dropped because she stopped firing up the big oven for a single potato. Small gadgets just make you cook smaller. Same with folks who switched to induction burners, they boil water faster so they stop leaving it on. Air fryers ride that wave too. It's not magic, it's just matching the tool to the portion.
