Hot take: my boss at the bar tried to use an AI tool for our happy hour promo and it was a total mess.

It wrote an email blast for our $5 beer special that called our regulars 'valued data points' and suggested pairing the drinks with 'algorithmically selected snacks', which just proved you can't skip the human touch (you know, like knowing Dave always drinks two IPAs).

My buddy's coffee shop tried one of those AI menu writers. It described their blueberry muffins as 'moist cylindrical fruit delivery systems'. They had to reprint everything.

Saw a news piece about a pizza place whose AI wrote "discounted circular bread with curated dairy and tomato sauce" instead of just saying cheap pizza. That vibe totally matches what @juliaa25 said about the muffin menus. The tools miss the point that customers just want to feel known, not analyzed. Like your boss calling Dave a data point instead of remembering his usual order. The human stuff, the inside jokes and the regulars' names, that's what actually fills the bar.
