Dropped $60 on a Pinterest ads course from 2019 and the whole thing was just boosting pins
Back in 2019 I bought a $60 course from some guy on YouTube who swore Pinterest ads were the next big AI thing before anyone knew what that even meant, and the whole thing was basically 40 minutes of him clicking the boost button and saying 'the algorithm will figure it out.' I tried it on my wife's candle shop for two weeks, got 3,000 impressions and zero sales, and later found out the exact same tips were free on the platform's own help page. Has anyone here actually gotten Pinterest ads to work, or did it go the way of every other boost button I've ever clicked?
Yep, that button is a trap and the course guy basically charged you for a help page. The only time Pinterest ads worked for me was when I ran a promoted pin straight to a product page with a clear price and a good photo, not to the shop home page, and I capped the spend at $5 a day so a flop couldn't hurt. Candle shops can do okay there but it's slow, so skip the courses and just run one cheap test pin for a week before you spend real money.
