Vent: My AI content detector flagged my own handwritten essay as fake
Was working on a freelance writing gig from a coffee shop in Austin last Tuesday, submitted a piece I hand-typed without any AI help, and the client's detector gave it a 94% probability of being machine-written. Has anyone else had a legit human-written piece get falsely flagged by these tools?

My friend got hit with a 96% false positive on her novel manuscript last week. She writes literary fiction with a very lyrical style and the detector just ate it alive. These tools are basically just guessing based on patterns they've seen in training data, not actually understanding whether a human wrote something. I keep telling people they need to look at the error rates and confidence intervals instead of trusting that single percentage number. The hype around these detectors is doing more damage than good for actual writers right now.
