Pro tip: my AI recipe bot invented a spice that doesn't exist and I didn't catch it for 3 meals
I use a chatbot to remix whatever is left in my fridge and last Tuesday it told me to add "smoked coriander dust" to a chili. I dumped it in before realizing there is no such thing, it just jammed two words together and rolled with it. Now I check every weird ingredient name before it hits the pot, anyone else almost eat an AI hallucination?
Checking every weird ingredient name is smart but I gotta push back on one thing. "Coriander" and "cumin" are actually the same plant, just different parts. Cilantro is the leaf, coriander is the seed, and in some countries "coriander" means the leaf too. So "coriander dust" is basically ground coriander seed, which is a real spice you can buy at any store. The "smoked" part is the made up bit. Your bot didn't invent a whole new spice, it just slapped a fancy word on a normal one. Still a good habit to double check though, cause next time it might tell you to add "whispered paprika" and you'll be standing there like an idiot.
