My team's code review process got way faster after we tried a new AI tool

About four months ago, our code reviews in Seattle were taking forever, sometimes three days for a simple pull request. We were all getting frustrated. Then our lead developer suggested we try out an AI tool called CodeRabbit. It was a game changer. The AI looks at the code changes and gives a first pass review, pointing out potential bugs and style issues right away. Now, our average review time is down to under six hours. It's not perfect, it sometimes misses deeper logic problems, but it catches the easy stuff so we can focus. Has anyone else used an AI tool for code reviews and found a good way to train it for your specific project's needs?

Sounds like AI is slowly taking over the boring parts of every job.

It's true, but the real question is what happens when the boring parts are gone. People will need to get good at the stuff AI can't do, like dealing with real world messes and making judgment calls. The job market could split into high skill creative work and hands on repair work that robots can't handle. We might end up valuing different kinds of smarts.
