Charged my EV for the first time in 6 months at a slow charger, felt ancient
I been driving a gas car since March because I moved to an apartment with no hookup. Finally hit a Level 2 charger at a grocery store in Austin and waited 45 minutes for like 80 miles. My buddy with the new 350kW station laughs at me but honestly the slow one gave me time to read the manual for once. Are fast chargers really worth hunting down or do you guys just plan around the boring ones too?

45 minutes for 80 miles" sounds like a therapy session with extra steps, but hey, at least you got the manual read. My last slow charge I ended up reorganizing my glovebox and finding a 2019 receipt from a gas station I don't even remember visiting, so I get it. Fast chargers are great if you're in a hurry to sit in your car and watch 3 YouTube videos, but honestly the slow ones force you to live like it's 2010 again. I'll take boredom over spending $40 to charge in 20 minutes while I panic about my battery health. Your buddy with the 350kW can keep his speed, I'm just happy I finally know how to turn off the cabin light in my own damn car.
