Decorating my desk area really changed how my sketchbook tours feel

I've seen more sketchbook tours lately that really show off the artist's space. I added some colorful posters and a neat bookshelf behind my desk, and it made my tours pop! Viewers say it helps them connect with my process better.

Totally get that now. Used to think backgrounds were just extra stuff, but seeing how a cool desk setup changes the whole feel of sketchbook tours really changed my mind. It just makes everything fit together better.

Does the background really matter more than the art?

Watching someone paint a perfect sunset then ruin it with a neon green lawn... yeah, the background matters. Put a stick figure in front of the Mona Lisa and suddenly we're all talking about the weird little dude up front. It's all one picture in the end.
