Just realized my coffee roasting sessions are the talk of my apartment building
During my last roast, the smoke detector went off for the third time this month. Now my neighbors keep asking if I'm okay or if I need cooking lessons, which is getting awkward. What's the best way to explain home coffee roasting to concerned bystanders without sounding like a pyromaniac?

Assume they're genuinely worried about fire hazards.

Hear you, @kelly_west45... fire hazards are no joke. I nearly set my kitchen ablaze last year when a greasy towel fell onto a stove burner... it caught fire in seconds. Now I double-check everything, from curling irons to overloaded power strips. The thought of a spark igniting keeps me up at night... so yeah, genuine worry is totally valid.

Honestly home coffee roasting is way different than cooking with oil or grease. It's a dry process, tbh way less sketchy than frying stuff if you're paying attention.
