I can't decide if the Voynich Manuscript is a brilliant fake or a lost language
I recently got deep into reading about the Voynich Manuscript, and it's driving me crazy. On one hand, some experts say it's a clever forgery from the Renaissance, intended to trick collectors. They point to the weird plants and stars that don't match anything real. On the other hand, other researchers think it's a real code or language we just haven't cracked yet, maybe from a lost culture. I've spent hours looking at the pictures, and part of me wants to believe it's genuine, but another part thinks it's too odd to be true. After watching a documentary, I even tried to spot patterns in the text, but it's all gibberish to me. What do you all think about this? I'd love to hear if you've looked into it and which side you're on.

Ever think it could just be some medieval person's private, made-up art project? Like they were just doodling a fantasy world for fun, not trying to fool anyone or write in a real code.

Nah, the writing's too consistent for a simple doodle.

That private art project idea is interesting. But if it was just some person's fantasy doodle, why go to all that trouble? We're talking 240 pages of super detailed plants, astrological charts, and a full made-up alphabet. That's a huge amount of work for a private joke nobody else was meant to see. What kind of person has that much time and skill but zero purpose?
