Warning: The mountain path I grew up on feels like a tourist spot now...
I tried hiking the old ridge trail behind my family's cabin last week, after years away... It used to be just a rough track with overgrown bushes and quiet corners. Now, it's got smooth gravel, benches every half mile, and constant groups of people. I remember finding wild blueberries all along the way, but this time the bushes were picked clean and trampled... It just doesn't have the same feel anymore, like it lost its soul. Do you guys have trails that changed like this? I wonder if we're loving them to death... Kinda makes me want to find new hidden spots, but that's part of the problem too.

Man, it's like everything gets sanded down and labeled for mass use now. I see it with parks, little food spots, even workout spaces... once regular people find something real, it gets packaged safe and loses what made it cool.

Yeah, you just described the whole vibe of the last ten years.

Trails get maintained, that's just what happens. The gravel probably makes it safer for more people to get outside, and benches help older hikers. Maybe it's less wild, but more folks getting to see a nice view isn't the worst trade-off.
