Just realized drinking more water keeps me alert in the cab all day
Tbh, I always thought hydration was for athletes, not operators. But last week I started keeping a big water bottle in my loader. Honestly, I don't get that afternoon fog anymore. My reactions feel sharper during tight maneuvers. Ngl, it's the simplest tip but it really works for long shifts.

Wait, I actually find it makes me need more bathroom breaks. That messes with my focus more than being a bit thirsty. Maybe it just depends on the person.

Yeah, that's totally true! I used to think the same way, that only people doing hard workouts really needed to worry about it. But man, I tried drinking more water during my own long days and it was a total game changer. The difference in focus is real, it's like my brain just works better when it's not thirsty. It sounds so simple but it's one of those things you don't believe until you try it for yourself.
