Thick safety gloves caused me to drop a custom pane. Now I use thin ones for better grip.

Had a similar thing with oven mitts, totally lost grip on a hot pan lol. Switched to those silicone ones and no more spills.

Funny how that works! Those thick padded gloves are a total trap for heavy stuff. They make your hands clumsy. Give me a basic pair of leather work gloves any day. You keep the dexterity to actually hold onto things, especially with awkward shapes like pipes or lumber. The grip is just way more direct.

My buddy Ben was helping his uncle install a custom shower door last summer. He was using those big padded work gloves and totally lost his grip on a heavy piece of tempered glass. It shattered on the patio and they had to wait six weeks for a replacement. Now he swears by those basic latex-dipped gloves, says he can actually feel what he's holding.
