Spent $300 on a used annealing kiln that had a hidden crack in the floor, basically turned into a very expensive paperweight.

Tried patching mine with some high temp furnace cement. Held up for a few more projects, at least. Might be worth a shot before you totally scrap it.

Ever think about turning the whole floor into a feature? You could fill that crack with a refractory cement and then inlay some steel wire or thin rod in a cool pattern over the whole surface. It would reinforce it and look totally custom. I saw a guy do that on a forge and it became the best part. Might be a fun way to save it and make it one of a kind.

Love that idea! You could even bend the wire into little vines or leaves before setting it in the cement. Makes a fix into real art.
