Just learned why regulated quarries matter for green energy
Honestly, I used to protest against all mining. Tbh, after visiting a managed quarry, I saw how they replant and control runoff. Ngl, the raw materials are key for solar panels and wind turbines. We can't go green without digging sometimes. It's all about doing it right, not banning it completely.

My buddy in construction took me to see an old quarry site they were working near... said it had been "reclaimed" ten years back. We walked the edge and the water in the bottom pit was still that weird, clear blue with no plants growing anywhere near it. He said the ground just never really came back like they promised.

Hated the idea too until seeing the care they put into fixing old damage, which changed my mind.

I saw a managed quarry in Vermont that still had acid runoff issues after they said it was fixed. I mean, even with replanting, the soil is messed up for years. Idk if that's really solving the problem or just making it look better. Maybe it's just me, but calling that green energy feels a bit off.
