My friend told me to stop taking those tiny $50 logo jobs

She said I was just training clients to think my work was cheap. I kept doing them for three months because the money felt steady. Then a client from one of those jobs asked for a full brand package and got mad when my quote was $800. I lost a week arguing with them over my rates. How do you break out of the small job cycle without going broke?

How did you finally raise your rates? I used to think those small jobs were fine until a client tried to lowball me on a huge project.

Honestly I started charging more for the small stuff first. It builds up your confidence before the big talks, lol.
