A rainy Tuesday that turned my ink mixing upside down

I had a free afternoon and decided to finally try mixing a deep forest green I'd been thinking about. I started with 4 parts of a basic blue and 1 part of a yellow, but it just looked murky. On a whim, I added a single drop of a red sheening ink I had from a sample pack. It didn't change the color much, but when it dried on the test card, it had this tiny, subtle copper shimmer along the edges I never expected. It was a complete accident from one drop. I've been chasing that kind of happy little surprise ever since. Has anyone else had a single drop of something totally change the whole feel of a mix?

Accidents are just failed mixes you talk yourself into liking.

Failed mixes? That's a brutal way to see it.
