Tried bleaching some driftwood from the Oregon coast and it turned a weird pink color.

I guess the salt or something in the wood reacted with the bleach, but now it looks kinda cool. Has anyone else had a piece change color in a way that actually worked out?

Ever notice how the best stuff happens by accident? ParkerKim's pearlescent wood and your pink driftwood, both better than planned. Makes me wonder what other cool mess-ups we're missing.

Got a piece of manzanita that went almost pearlescent after a peroxide soak. The pink you got sounds way more interesting than plain white driftwood, like it picked up a stain from the ocean itself. Wonder if the type of salt or minerals in that stretch of coast causes different reactions?
