Found a box of old home movies from the 80s at a yard sale for $20 and it was a total gamble

So I saw this beat up cardboard box full of unlabeled VHS tapes at a yard sale in my neighborhood last weekend. The guy selling them said they came from a house cleanout and had no idea what was on them. I figured for twenty bucks, it was worth the risk for some weird found footage. Most of the tapes were just boring family vacations and birthday parties, but one of them had about ten minutes of what looks like a local commercial for a pizza place that closed in 1991. The production quality is so bad it's good, with this guy in a giant pizza costume dancing badly in the parking lot. The rest of the tape is just static, but that little clip made the whole box worth it. I'm thinking of digitizing just that part. Has anyone else bought a mystery box of tapes and actually found something cool like that?

That's the dream with old tapes... finding one weird little piece of lost time. The bad dancing pizza guy sounds like a perfect slice of the past. Really glad your gamble paid off like that.

Total gamble" used to sound dumb to me, but that pizza commercial is a perfect win.
