Went to that new taco spot on 3rd Street yesterday

They had a line out the door at 2pm on a Tuesday. The guy at the register said they sell about 800 al pastor tacos a day. The pineapple on the trompo was perfectly charred. Anyone know other places doing trompo al pastor right?

Used to think the best al pastor was in the back of a grocery store. That trompo at the new spot changed my mind completely.

That grocery store trompo was good, but it makes you wonder how many other spots are just using pre sliced meat. The real magic happens when they carve it fresh off the spit right onto your tortilla. The new place sounds like they get that process right, from the line to the charred pineapple. There's a truck on the east side that does it the same way, but you have to get there before the lunch rush ends. Once that trompo meat is gone for the day, they just shut down.
