Unpopular take: microcurrent devices are overhyped for most people

After 8 weeks using a NuFace on the daily, I saw way less lift than I get from a good gua sha routine that costs under $20. Has anyone else ditched the gadgets for simple manual work and gotten better results?

Oh dang I actually never thought about it like that. I was in the same boat thinking gua sha did the same thing but you're right they work on totally different layers. Might have to give microcurrent another shot now that I understand the difference.

Yeah but I gotta push back a little on the idea that gua sha and microcurrent are the same kind of thing. Microcurrent actually stimulates the muscles underneath, while gua sha mostly works on the surface to move fluid and reduce puffiness. So if you're looking for real muscle tone and lift, a good microcurrent device can do stuff that manual work just can't. Not saying you're wrong to ditch the gadget, just that the two tools target different layers of the skin.
