My view on the rush to add acids to every facial routine
I feel like everyone is telling clients to use acids for everything, but I'm not sold. Saw a post where an esth said glycolic acid fixes all texture issues, but that's not always true. For example, my client with sensitive skin tried a popular AHA toner and her face got super red and dry. It took weeks of just gentle cream to calm it down. I think we should check skin type first instead of jumping on the acid train. Let's remember that some skin just needs moisture, not more stripping.

Started using acids like everyone else last year. My face turned so red I scared my cat! Now I swear by checking your skin type first.

Your client's weeks of recovery after that AHA toner must have been tough.

Ugh, tell me about it. It was a rough couple weeks for sure, a real big shift from their old routine. Their skin got so sensitive that even water kinda stung at first. We just had to dial everything way back and check in like every other day.
