Flux pens won me over after a repair gone wrong

I thought flux was too much trouble for small solder jobs. After I messed up a phone board fix, I saw how it makes solder flow way better. Now I use a flux pen for every joint. What tool did you once ignore but now rely on?

Classic move, refusing to use the right tool until you wreck something expensive. Flux pens are lifesavers once you stop being stubborn.

Yeah but sometimes the cheap tools work fine if you know what you're doing. I've seen guys make perfect joints with just a basic flux core solder. The pen is just extra stuff to buy and keep track of. It feels like solving a problem that isn't really there for a lot of jobs.
