Rant: A 1920s house in Tacoma made me rethink how I look at floors

Spent two full days tracing a dead circuit only to find the original knob and tube run under the original hardwood, not through the walls. Has anyone else had a floor hide a major wiring surprise?

Old houses are full of weird shortcuts like that, lol. It makes you wonder what else is buried under the floorboards. Good luck with the rest of the reno.

Yeah, it's wild what you find. My uncle found a bunch of old newspapers from the 50s acting as insulation in his walls. Makes you wonder what the builders were thinking.
