Found out the hard way: hand taping vs automatic taper for small jobs

I've been using hand tape on bathrooms and closets for years. Finally rented an automatic taper for a 12x12 bedroom I did last Tuesday. Honestly the machine made such a mess with mud everywhere I had to spend an extra hour cleaning up. Hand taping might be slower but for anything under 200 square feet I'm sticking with it. Anybody else find the auto tools only pay off on big commercial stuff?

Found out the hard way" is right. I once tried an automatic taper in my own bathroom and spent more time cleaning mud off my shoes than I did taping the actual corners.
