Overheard a guy at the marina say silicon caulk is a scam

He was patching a deck leak and started ranting about how silicon just peels off after six months. Swore by polyurethane instead. Anyone else find silicon fails faster on fiberglass vs wood?

Oh great, polyurethane evangelists are the new keto diet people now?

Hold up @marymorgan, that's not quite fair to the keto crowd. Polyurethane fans are way more into telling you about their foam density ratings and R-values than any diet group I've met. At least keto people can show you results in a few months, while these guys are still arguing about whether closed cell is better than open cell after three years. I've got a neighbor who swapped out his kitchen cabinets just to prove a point about spray foam, and now he talks about insulation like it's a personality trait. Give me a keto person any day, at least they stop talking after breakfast.
