Found a cheap fix for my rusty garden shears

I grabbed a bottle of dollar store white vinegar and some aluminum foil, soaked the blades for 2 hours and scrubbed them clean. Did anyone else have that stuff sitting in your cleaning cabinet for years without realizing it works on rust?

Wait, you're telling me I could have been using vinegar this whole time instead of scrubbing my rusty tools with a wire brush like a caveman in 2024? Here I was thinking white vinegar was only good for making sad salad dressing and cleaning coffee pots. I bet my shears are laughing at me from the garage right now. Guess I'll be raiding the pantry tonight and giving this a shot, because my arm is tired from all that pointless elbow grease.

Isn't it funny how the simplest household things often end up being handier than all those fancy store-bought products?
