That guy at the repair shop who fixed my HDMI port with a paperclip

I watched a stranger in a Denver shop reflow a loose HDMI port on my PS4 using just a paperclip and a soldering iron, then he charged me $6 and said 'your mistake was trusting the drop test,' so has anyone else tried a basic reflow instead of buying a new board?

Swear to god I did the same thing with my old Xbox One last year. The HDMI port was wobbling so bad that any slight nudge killed the signal. Watched a YouTube video, grabbed a paperclip and my $20 soldering iron from Harbor Freight, and just reflowed the joints like that Denver guy. Took me maybe 20 minutes and it worked perfectly for another two years until I upgraded. The scary part is missing one of those tiny pins, but if you take your time it's honestly way easier than people think. Charging $6 for that is a steal though, most shops would've tried to sell you a whole new motherboard for like $150. That paperclip trick is legit, just make sure you unplug everything and let the board cool down before you touch it.
