My featured digital portrait used a filter I didn't pay for

Proud of the feature but guilty about the filter.

The featured portrait used a filter you didn't pay for. Was it a limited time trial or did you bypass a paywall? I understand the guilt. It feels like cutting corners. But the feature proves your work has value. Do you think the filter was the main reason it got featured? Or was it your original art that caught attention?

Totally get that guilt, @troyp37, but if it got featured the art itself is clearly good enough.

Cutting corners" is such a loaded way to put it. I used a free trial on a photo editing app once for a school project, and it made my charts look amazing. The teacher praised the clear data, not the shiny graphics. The tool just helped show off the work I already did. If your art got featured, the core idea was strong enough on its own.
