Hot take: I stopped chasing the 75% off racks because the cashier at my Food Lion explained how markdowns actually work

Last Tuesday she told me the yellow stickers drop in waves, first 30% then 50% then 75%, and if I wait for the deepest cut on meat I'm usually getting whatever sat through two earlier rounds, so now I grab the 50% stuff the day it hits and it's way fresher, has anyone else noticed the timing thing with their local store?
